As an R&D Packaging Manager, you will implement packaging solutions that support and drive NPD & EPD portfolios in line with R&D KPIs, the company’s vision, and future goals. Your role includes leading testing and development of packaging solutions before transitioning to operations (in-house or third-party co-packers), as well as supporting technical specifications and continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate Profile

We seek an experienced packaging professional with strong project management skills and meticulous attention to detail. Success requires the ability to lead packaging initiatives, collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders, and work in a cross-functional environment.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Drive packaging development projects from concept to implementation to support product development, including innovation and renovation.
2. Develop packaging solutions from initial feasibility through factory trials and implementation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and food contact legislation.
3. Ensure packaging specifications are approved internally and with suppliers before production, locking down performance criteria.
4. Provide technical expertise for NPD/EPD projects and broader business needs.
5. Build and maintain relationships with external packaging suppliers, co-packers, and manufacturers to support R&D and business operations.
6. Collaborate across departments such as Commercial, Brand, Finance, and Operations.
7. Minimize environmental impact by selecting sustainable packaging materials and suppliers.
8. Offer technical support and troubleshooting during operations.
9. Assist Marketing, Sales, and other teams with packaging-related inquiries, including visits to key customers.
10. Contribute to shaping the long-term R&D strategy, including targets, KPIs, and lab development.
11. Manage up to four direct reports.
