Job summary

CSC Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for a Tier 1 main contractor in Welwyn Garden City. You will lead commercial aspects of projects, from procurement to final accounts, and work within a busy Northern Home Counties team.

Ideal candidates will have delivered education or leisure sector schemes, managed subcontracts, and held responsibility for costs and forecasts. The role offers site/office based work with some flexibility and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Must have experience with a recognised main contractor and be comfortable taking commercial responsibility for own projects.
• Experience delivering education, leisure or similar construction projects.
• Understanding of JCT and/or NEC contracts; two-stage procurement experience is advantageous.
• Experience from pre-construction through delivery and final account.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of construction projects from procurement through to completion.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, valuations, payments and final accounts.
• Produce CVRs, cost reports and financial forecasts.
• Manage variations, contractual matters and commercial risks.
• Collaborate closely with operational teams to keep projects within budget.
• Support commercial management under JCT/NEC contracts.
