Job summary

A.D.S Construction Personnel Ltd is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for the Northern Home Counties, based in Welwyn Garden City with flexibility for occasional remote working. The role sits in a Tier 1 contractor's commercial team, handling live projects and a growing pipeline across Education, Leisure and public sectors.

You will manage financial reporting, subcontractor accounts and client relationships, with opportunities to lead schemes up to £10m or act as number two on larger ones.

Qualifications

• 2-stage project delivery experience
• Contracting background in main contracting environments
• Experience on Education or Leisure schemes between £10m-£30m
• Ability to lead schemes up to £10m or support larger projects
• NEC4 or JCT contract experience
• BSc/HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent and/or RICS membership
• Strong understanding of construction techniques and commercial reporting
• Ability to produce site records, cost reports and payment documentation
• Experience with COINS or similar commercial systems

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate financial reporting to support commercial targets
• Manage subcontractor accounts and verify contractual entitlements
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
• Support site teams with contract requirements and commercial guidance
• Place and manage subcontract orders and ensure timely payments
• Monitor subcontractor progress against programme
• Obtain competitive quotes and understand market trends
• Assist with CVRs, cost value reconciliations and cashflow forecasting
• Prepare applications for payment and ensure WIP targets
• Monitor internal expenditure against budget
• Identify opportunities to maximise value and reduce cost
• Operate COINS and other commercial systems effectively
• Support and coach junior commercial team members
• Manage variations, claims and additional payments
• Ensure full financial closure of projects in reporting timetables
