Job summary

Tradeline Recruitment in Luton is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing main contractor on a permanent basis. The role is hybrid, with responsibility for commercial ownership on projects up to £15m, including procurement, CVRs and cost reporting.

You will drive variations, change control and payments, review contracts, and maintain strong client relationships. A driving licence and a relevant QS qualification are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' relevant contractor-side experience.
• Proven experience running projects as the commercial lead.
• Strong subcontract procurement and commercial management experience.
• Good working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts.
• Experienced in producing monthly CVRs and cost reports.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Leading the commercial management of projects from inception to completion
• Managing subcontract procurement, packages and accounts
• Producing monthly cost reports and CVRs
• Managing variations, change control, risks and opportunities
• Preparing client applications and managing payment processes
• Reviewing contracts, programmes and potential delays/disruption
• Negotiating with clients, consultants and subcontractors
• Maintaining strong commercial and client relationships
