Job summary

Fawkes & Reece are recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established civil engineering contractor for a Midlands project. You will oversee commercial and financial management, ensuring costs are controlled and projects meet budget targets.

The role requires strong numerical and analytical abilities, experience in cost planning, BOQ preparation, and effective communication with operations teams. RICS membership is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of cost control, cost planning and commercial management.
• Experience preparing BOQs and cost reports.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider project team.
• Relevant Quantity Surveying or Construction Management qualification preferred.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial and financial management of civil engineering projects, working closely with the operational team to ensure costs are effectively controlled and projects are delivered within budget.
