Job summary

Henley Chase is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. The role focuses on civils, groundworks or enabling works, managing projects commercially from procurement through to final account.

The successful candidate will oversee valuations, variations, payments, and subcontractor accounts, with strong cost control and contract negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civils and/or groundworks.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
• Experience managing valuations, variations, subcontractors and final accounts.
• Good understanding of project costs, budgets and forecasting.

• Manage the commercial aspects of civils and groundworks projects.
• Prepare and submit valuations, variations and payment applications.

• Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts.
• Procure subcontractors and materials.
• Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identify and manage variations and additional works.
• Prepare and agree final accounts.
• Monitor project performance against budget.
• Produce accurate commercial reports and cost forecasts.
• Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors.
• Ensure contractual and commercial obligations are maintained.
• Support the wider commercial team with tendering and pricing where required.

• Good understanding of project costs, budgets and forecasting.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience with NEC and/or JCT contracts would be advantageous
