Job summary

Fawkes & Reece are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join a civil engineering contractor on a project in Babraham, Cambridge. You will manage project costs, prepare BOQs, and drive cost planning and reporting to keep projects within budget.

The role requires strong commercial acumen, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to work independently within a wider project team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity on site in Cambridge.

Qualifications

• Previous Quantity Surveyor experience in civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure.
• Strong cost control and commercial management knowledge.
• Experience preparing BOQs and cost reports.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage project costs from initial estimates through to final accounts.
• Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Cost planning, forecasting and reporting.
• Monitor project expenditure and identify commercial risks.
• Manage valuations, variations and subcontractor accounts.
• Work closely with project and site teams to ensure commercial targets are achieved.
• Produce accurate cost reports and commercial updates.
• Assist with procurement and subcontractor negotiations.
