Job summary

Pertemps West Midlands & Worcestershire Perm Hub is seeking an experienced Quality Manager in Cannock to lead the quality function from the office. The role focuses on maintaining the QMS, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance across the organisation.

The successful candidate will oversee audits, investigate non-conformances, analyze quality data and collaborate with production, engineering, purchasing and senior management to elevate quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a Quality function in manufacturing/engineering environments.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and standards.
• Experience conducting internal and external audits and driving corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and leadership with ability to influence across levels.

Responsibilities

Job description

This permanent Quality Manager position in Cannock offers a salary of £45,000 to £55,000 and full-time hours, Monday to Thursday 08:15–17:00 and Friday 08:15–13:45, based in the office.

The successful candidate will lead the quality function, maintaining standards, driving continuous improvement, managing audits and ensuring compliance throughout the organisation.

Key duties include overseeing the Quality Management System, embedding best practice and supporting teams to meet regulatory requirements.

Applicants should possess strong knowledge of quality assurance, auditing and compliance, alongside proven leadership and communication abilities.

Experience within a manufacturing or engineering setting would be advantageous for this role.

• Manage supplier quality performance, carrying out supplier assessments and supporting improvement plans where required.
• Lead customer quality activities and provide support during customer visits and audits.
• Train and mentor employees on quality processes, standards and best practices.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in a Quality Manager, Quality Systems Manager or Senior Quality Engineer position within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and quality standards.
• Experience conducting internal and external audits.
• Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as 8D, Root Cause Analysis, PPAP, FMEA, APQP or similar.
• Ability to analyse data and implement process improvements.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong leadership and people management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality reporting systems.
