Mazco Recruitment is partnering with a well‑established aerospace manufacturer in Basildon to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector. This is a key position within the quality department, responsible for ensuring all aerospace components and assemblies meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards. You will play a hands‑on role in inspection and verification activities, working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to support precision engineering and continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Inspect aerospace components, sub‑assemblies, and finished products in line with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Carry out precision measurements using micrometres, callipers, gauges, CMMs, and other metrology equipment.
- Identify, document, and report non‑conformances, supporting corrective and preventative actions.
- Review and validate engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, and quality procedures.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to monitor processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, ensuring full traceability and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior inspectors and production personnel.
- Support root cause analysis and quality investigations.
- Participate in internal and external audits in line with ISO and customer requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' UK experience within engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Quality Inspector within aerospace or precision engineering.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
- Good working knowledge of inspection techniques, metrology equipment, and CMM processes.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience working to ISO 9001 and ideally AS9100 standards.
- Proactive and adaptable approach within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
