Job summary

SSE is seeking a Quality Engineer to join the Commercial & Connections Quality team. This permanent, full‑time role is hybrid, with 50% of your week in the office, and a base location among SSE offices in the South of England or Scotland.

You will drive continuous improvement, champion quality standards and help deliver efficient, compliant and customer‑focused services. Lean Six Sigma experience would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or HNC with quality management experience.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ISO 9001:2015 knowledge preferred.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across internal and external partners.
• Experience reporting and analyzing KPIs in a regulated industry.
• Strong IT skills and ability to present performance data.

Responsibilities

• Identify quality, compliance and operational risks and drive corrective actions.
• Conduct quality reviews of quotations and designs for standards and regulatory compliance.
• Support continual improvement of engineering processes and customer outcomes.
• Ensure quotations from the design team meet standards and policies.
• Provide assurance that quality management processes are applied across the business.
