Job summary

SSE is seeking a Quality Engineer to join the Quality team within the Commercial & Connections business. The role is based in the UK with a Flexible First approach and 50% office time across SSE offices or depots.

You will drive continuous improvement, champion quality standards and ensure delivery of compliant, customer-focused services. Ideal candidates will have an Engineering degree or equivalent, with Lean Six Sigma experience advantageous, strong analytical skills and the ability to report

Qualifications

• A degree in Engineering, or an HNC supported by significant industry knowledge and experience in quality management or business improvement projects.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; experience with ISO 9001:2015 is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and ability to build relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
• Experience producing reports and KPIs in a regulated industry is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Identify quality, compliance and operational risks and drive corrective actions.
• Conduct quality reviews of quotations and designs for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Support continual improvement of engineering processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Ensure quotations are accurate, compliant and aligned with standards and policies.
• Provide assurance that quality management processes are applied consistently.
