Job summary

SSE is seeking a Quality Engineer to join the Quality team. The role blends office and site work within the Commercial & Connections portfolio, driving continuous improvement, championing quality standards and supporting compliant, customer‑focused services.

Candidates should hold an Engineering degree or an HNC with substantial quality-management experience, with Lean Six Sigma experience advantageous.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Experience with ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.
• Experience producing reports and KPIs, and presenting findings.
• Strong IT skills and ability to present performance data to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Identify quality, compliance and operational risks and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Conduct quality reviews of quotations and designs for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Support continual improvement of engineering processes for quality and efficiency.
• Ensure design quotations align with standards, policies and regulatory obligations.
• Provide assurance that quality management processes are consistently applied across the business.
