Job summary

Caterpillar in Desford, Leicestershire, is seeking an Operations Quality Auditor/Technician to audit fully built machines in the captive flow and perform related operational duties.

You will record defects, communicate issues, support investigations, and help train new team members while upholding 5S and TPM standards in a safety-focused environment. This permanent role offers a competitive salary and company benefits.

Qualifications

• Quality Gate or operational experience
• Experience of the Built in Quality process, reporting defects and root cause analysis.
• Experience of following standard work procedures.
• Possess a good understanding of assembly operations practices and process.
• As a team member the ability to work closely with others is imperative, requiring team participation to achieve the agreed goals
• Self-motivated, with the flexibility to deal with independent and team behaviours.
• Highly organised and a keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits on fully built machines within the captive flow area following inspection standard work.
• Carry basic operational duties including but not limited to PSPS and fluid top ups, ensuring machine is ready for PDI process.
• Record defect information in detail via electronic, manual processes or visual boards.
• Clearly communicate defects to other areas and support area personnel as issues arise.
• Participate in defect investigations and projects as required.
• Support and train new team members.
• Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM).
• Adhere to the company's Health & Safety policy and safe working practice.
