Job summary
Caterpillar Desford seeks an Instrumentation Engineer (Test & Validation) to apply instrumentation, testing and data-acquisition expertise to development and validation of construction equipment. You will define requirements, install sensors and configure data-acquisition systems for reliable test data.
You will work with engineers and suppliers, maintain calibration records and support ISO/IEC 17025 practices while contributing to safe, high-quality test execution in a busy product development
Qualifications
- Applied technical knowledge of instrumentation and data-acquisition systems.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation, sensors and DAQ systems.
- Experience with data acquisition and test methods.
Responsibilities
- Define instrumentation and data-acquisition requirements with test engineers and product development teams, selecting sensors and hardware.
- Plan, install and commission instrumentation systems on equipment and test rigs.
- Configure and verify data-acquisition systems to capture engineering data.
- Monitor data quality and resolve technical issues during testing.
- Maintain calibration status and technical records for instrumentation equipment.
- Support ISO/IEC 17025 practices and laboratory quality initiatives.
- Collaborate across Product Development and Test & Validation teams.
