Job Description:

Taiko Foods is seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to join our team in London (Acton). This full-time position offers a salary of £27,500, with 40 contracted hours per week.

Established in 1997, Taiko has become the UK's leading manufacturer of Sushi, Food To Go, Prepared Meals, and Snacking products, supplying major retailers such as Waitrose, Tesco, and Sainsbury’s. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, highly organized, and passionate about food safety and quality. You will ensure our products meet regulatory standards and customer expectations, support compliance, and identify areas for improvement. Strong communication skills and experience in food quality management are essential.

Responsibilities include:

• Checking compliance with Food Safety and Quality Management System procedures, including allergen control measures.
• Conducting GMP audits and compliance observations.
• Investigating complaints.
• Ensuring products meet specifications, legality, and quality standards; reporting deviations.
• Monitoring hygiene practices among staff and reporting issues.
• Performing temperature checks on chillers and freezers daily.
• Quarantining non-conforming products or equipment and reporting to the QA Manager.
• Collecting and maintaining check sheets and records as per QMS requirements.
• Leading by example in procedure compliance.
• Assuming roles such as Fire Warden and First Aider when required.
• Supervising QCs and ensuring proper routine execution.
• Maintaining technical equipment and calibrating as advised.
• Participating in taste panels and reporting wastage.
• Assisting with other technical department tasks as needed.
