Job summary

Up Front Recruitment is working with an established construction business specialising in structural steel, industrial and agricultural buildings, civils, groundworks and refurbishment. The company is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor in Construction & Structural Steel to join its commercial function and take responsibility for the financial and commercial management of a varied portfolio of projects.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Strong commercial and cost-control knowledge.
• Experience with procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Ability to analyse project information and identify commercial risks.
• Strong communication with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Practical and commercially focused approach to project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of construction and structural steel projects.
• Cost control, forecasting and monitoring expenditure against budgets.
• Preparing and reviewing valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Procurement and management of subcontractor and supplier costs.
• Reviewing project costs, identifying commercial risks and maintaining accurate records.
• Working closely with project, design, fabrication and operational teams.
