A major healthcare provider in Scotland is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join their Procurement Team. This permanent role involves ensuring effective procurement processes and delivering best-value practices. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This is a permanent post of 37 hours per week. The shift pattern is 9AM‑5PM.
NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is the largest Health Board in Scotland and has a trade spend with third‑party suppliers of approximately £900 million; the Procurement Department provides a comprehensive procurement and logistics service for all Health Board functions.
We are pleased to offer two Purchasing Officer posts within the Procurement Team, an exciting opportunity to join our organisation. One of the posts is permanent while the other is fixed‑term for 12 months to provide temporary cover.
