Cobb & Jones Recruitment is partnering with a successful FMCG business in Mid Kent to find a Finance Assistant. The role primarily supports the finance department with all aspects of Purchase Ledger, including invoice allocation and payment processing. This position is mainly remote, with occasional travel to the Maidstone Office; initial training may be office-based if needed.

Key Duties:
  • Manage the accounts inbox
  • Process invoices daily
  • Send invoices for approval and payments
  • Handle daily banking
  • Conduct weekly payment runs
  • Manage vendor accounts, perform reconciliations, handle statements and queries
  • Process expenses and ad-hoc payments
  • Generate weekly aged payable reports
  • Process standing orders and purchase orders
  • Assist with month-end reporting and accruals
  • Support audit processes
  • Perform other transactional team tasks as required
  • Handle additional ad-hoc tasks as needed
Candidate Requirements:
  • Recent experience in a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Assistant role
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and basic formulas
  • Excellent planning, organization, and ability to work independently
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong numeracy skills with attention to detail
  • Inquisitive, proactive attitude
  • Values-driven team player with excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
