Job summary

Ossett Academy and Sixth Form College is seeking a temporary Pupil Services Officer to support pupil wellbeing, behaviour and attendance. The role focuses on pastoral administration, welfare checks with the Attendance Officer, and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment during term-time.

The post requires GCSEs in English and Maths and experience delivering high-quality administrative support in a busy school setting. DBS checks and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• GCSE level or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
• Experience of high-quality administrative support in a busy environment.
• Knowledge of data protection legislation and handling confidential information.
• Proactive, organised, resilient and flexible.
• Commitment to high standards of behaviour, attendance and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Support pupil wellbeing and safeguarding procedures, including welfare checks with the Attendance Officer.
• Promote positive behaviour and high standards of conduct among pupils.
• Respond to pastoral and behavioural matters as they arise.
• Work with Pastoral Year Leaders and the wider Pastoral Team.
• Provide administrative support to the pastoral team.
• Promote good attendance across pupils.
• Be a visible, approachable presence for pupils around the Academy.
• Help keep the learning environment safe, inclusive and purposeful.
• Support key Academy events and community life.
