Job summary

Ormiston Forge Academy is seeking a proactive Pastoral Support Officer to join during a maternity cover period, supporting students to be ready to learn and to succeed. You will focus on attendance, punctuality, and early pastoral care, building strong relationships with students, families, and staff.

In this role you will assist with behaviour management, respond to incidents, produce reports, and contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing initiatives, within a supportive school community that

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade A–C (or equivalent).
• First Aid qualification required or training to be completed as part of the role.
• Commitment to high standards of behaviour and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Support attendance and punctuality, promoting regular class engagement.
• Provide first-line pastoral care and build positive relationships with students and families.
• Support behaviour management, respond to incidents, and produce reports.
• Contribute to safeguarding, interventions, and wellbeing initiatives.
