Job summary

Ormiston Forge Academy is seeking a Pastoral Support Officer for maternity cover. You will promote positive behaviour, attendance and student wellbeing, supporting students to be ready to learn.

You will build strong relationships with students, families and staff, assist with safeguarding and wellbeing initiatives, and contribute to reports and interventions as part of a supportive, school‑wide approach.

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade A‑C (or equivalent) passes in Maths and English.
• If not held, first aid training will need to be undertaken as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Support attendance and punctuality.
• Provide first‑line pastoral care and build positive relationships with students, families and staff.
• Support behaviour management and respond to incidents.
• Produce reports and contribute to safeguarding, interventions and wellbeing initiatives.
• Help ensure students are ready to learn.
