Job summary

The Jolly Drover is seeking an assistant manager to work with the general manager to oversee daily pub operations, ensuring excellent customer service and a welcoming atmosphere.

You will supervise staff, assist with opening and closing, cash handling, and inventory management, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and compliance with health and safety rules.

The role supports delivering sales events and promotions to attract customers and build a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Staff supervision: recruit, train and supervise pub staff.
• Customer service: provide exceptional service and handle inquiries.
• Operations management: support opening/closing, cash handling and inventory.
• Sales and marketing: help develop promotions to drive revenue.
• Financial management: monitor expenses, budgeting, and vendor relations.
• Teamwork and communication: promote teamwork and liaise with suppliers.
• Compliance: ensure licensing, health and safety compliance.
• Problem solving: identify and resolve operational issues.
• Pub maintenance: coordinate repairs and report issues.
• Training and development: deliver staff training and stay updated on trends.
