Job summary

Rocket Staffing Group Ltd is seeking a PSV/HGV Mechanic in Bristol.NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds equivalent in vehicle maintenance is required; PSV/HGV experience preferred, but open to light vehicle candidates and ex-forces with relevant engineering training.

You will diagnose, repair, service and test vehicles, including on-road breakdowns when needed. A UK driving licence is essential; PCV licence desirable and support to obtain if not held.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent for PSV/HGV maintenance is required.
• Flexibility to multi-skill and adapt to tasks across PSV/HGV and light vehicle work.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicles, perform servicing and parts replacement.
• Identify faults and specify repairs and parts needed.
• Carry out servicing and routine inspections, using handheld data capture tools where applicable.
• Attend on-road breakdowns and recoveries when required.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and identify defects post-work.

Position: PSV/HGV Mechanic

Location: Bristol

Contract: 37 per week (permanent + overtime available)

Working Hours: Dayshifts available - can be discussed at screening

Salary: £43k to 47k

About the Role

We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic for our client in Bristol PSV or HGV mechanical experience is great however we love to hear from Light Vehicle qualified candidates and ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
• Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices if applicable
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required
• Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair

About You

• Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair?
• Do you have a flexible approach to work with the ability to multi skill?
• Are you a UK driving license holder? A PCV license is desirable however we can help you achieve this
