Job summary

Rocket Staffing Group Ltd in Basildon is seeking a skilled Lead PSV/HGV Mechanic for a full-time permanent role. The position offers 39 hours per week with a four-day out of seven shift pattern, including weekends, on a rotation of early and late shifts. Salary is £49,422 per annum with up to £4,000 extra weekend premium.

NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in vehicle maintenance is required. Driving licence is essential; PCV licence desirable with assistance to obtain.

Qualifications

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance or City & Guilds equivalent required.
• Flexible approach with ability to multi-skill.
• UK driving licence held; PCV licence desirable (we can help you obtain).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement.
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used.
• Carry out vehicle servicing and routine examinations using data capture devices.
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries as required.
• Carry out road tests to identify defects after repairs.

Salary: £49,422 per annum with the potential to earn around £4000 extra with weekend premium

About the Role

We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic for our client in Basildon PSV or HGV mechanical experience is great however we love to hear from Light Vehicle qualified candidates and ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
• Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices if applicable
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required
• Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair

About You

• Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair?
• Do you have a flexible approach to work with the ability to multi skill?
• Are you a UK driving license holder? A PCV license is desirable however we can help you achieve this
