Job summary

Rocket Staffing Group Ltd in Weymouth is seeking an NVQ Level 3 PSV/HGV Mechanic to join our team. You will diagnose, repair and service PSV/HGV vehicles, perform fault finding, and select appropriate parts and procedures for efficient restorations.

Experience with PSV/HGV is preferred; light vehicle qualifications or ex-forces engineers with an engineering background are welcome. The role offers a stable, full-time schedule Monday to Friday with attractive benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Flexible approach to work with ability to multi skill.
• UK driving license holder; PCV license desirable (we can help you achieve this).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement.
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used.
• Carry out vehicle servicing and routine examinations using handheld data capture devices where applicable.
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries as required.
• Carry out vehicle road testing to identify defects after repairs.

Contract: 39 hours per week - full time & permanent

Working Hours: Monday-Friday

About the Role

We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic for our client in Weymouth PSV or HGV mechanical experience is great however we love to hear from Light Vehicle qualified candidates and ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
• Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices if applicable
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required
• Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair

About You

• Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair?
• Do you have a flexible approach to work with the ability to multi skill?
• Are you a UK driving license holder? A PCV license is desirable however we can help you achieve this
