Job summary

Rocket Staffing Group Ltd is seeking a PSV/HGV Mechanic in Glasgow. NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) is required; PSV/HGV experience is ideal, but light vehicle candidates and engineers from other sectors are encouraged to apply.

The role involves diagnosing and repairing vehicles, servicing, and attending on-road breakdowns, with dayshift or nightshift options and a 37-hour week plus overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair required.
• Experience with PSV/HGV preferred; versatile applicants welcome.

Responsibilities

• Daignose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement.
• Diagnose faults and specify repair methods and parts.
• Carry out servicing and routine inspections using handheld data capture where applicable.
• Attend on-road breakdowns and recoveries as needed.
• Carrying out road tests to identify defects after repairs.

Job description

Position: PSV/HGV Mechanic

Location: Glasgow

Contract: 37 per week (permanent + overtime available)

Working Hours: Dayshift or nightshift hours available - can be discussed at screening

Salary: £20.50 per hour dayshift, £22.91 per hour nightshift

About the Role

We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic for our client in Glasgow PSV or HGV mechanical experience is great however we love to hear from Light Vehicle qualified candidates and ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
• Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices if applicable
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required
• Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair

About You

• Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair?
• Do you have a flexible approach to work with the ability to multi skill?
• Are you a UK driving license holder? A PCV license is desirable however we can help you achieve this
