Job summary

Rocket Staffing Group Ltd is recruiting a PSV/HGV Mechanic for our client in Taunton. This full-time role is 39 hours per week, with a late shift from 2pm to 10pm.

You will need NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair. PSV or HGV experience is preferred, but we welcome Light Vehicle qualified candidates and ex-forces engineers with an engineering apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Flexible approach to work with ability to multi-skill.
• UK driving licence held; PCV license desirable but support available.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicles, service and replace parts.
• Diagnose faults and specify repair method and parts.
• Carry out servicing and routine inspections using data capture devices.
• Attend on-road breakdowns and recoveries when required.
• Road test vehicles to identify defects after repairs.

Job description

Position: PSV/HGV Mechanic

Location: Taunton

Contract: 39 hours per week (full time & permanent)

Working Hours: 5 days over 7, late shift 2pm-10pm

Salary:£17.88 per hour with a shift payment of £20.36 per day

About the Role

We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic for our client in Taunton PSV or HGV mechanical experience is great however we love to hear from Light Vehicle qualified candidates and ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement


• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used


• Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices if applicable


• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required


• Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair

About You

• Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair?


• Do you have a flexible approach to work with the ability to multi skill?


• Are you a UK driving license holder? A PCV license is desirable however we can help you achieve this
