Job summary

Rocket Staffing Group Ltd is seeking an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 PSV/HGV Mechanic for a client in Weston-Super-Mare. You will diagnose and repair vehicles, service them, and carry out road tests as required to identify residual defects.

PSV/HGV experience is ideal, but Light Vehicle backgrounds and ex-forces engineers with an engineering apprenticeship are encouraged to apply. A UK driving licence is essential; PCV license is desirable and trainable.

Qualifications

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Flexible, multi-skilled approach to work.
• UK driving licence; PCV license desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement.
• Diagnose faults and determine repair methods and parts to be used.
• Attend on-road breakdowns and carry out road tests when needed.

Job description

Position: PSV/HGV Mechanic

Location: Weston-Super Mare

Contract: 39 hours per week (full time & permanent)

Working Hours: 5 days over 7 (including weekends) on a rotating shift pattern of early and lates

Salary: £20.91 per hour with a weekend premium rate of £34.10 per hour

About the Role

We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic for our client in Weston-Super Mare PSV or HGV mechanical experience is great however we love to hear from Light Vehicle qualified candidates and ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
• Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices if applicable
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required
• Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair

About You

• Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair?
• Do you have a flexible approach to work with the ability to multi skill?
• Are you a UK driving license holder? A PCV license is desirable however we can help you achieve this
