Job summary

First Bus Wells Depot is seeking a PSV/HGV Mechanic to join our engineering team. The role focuses on diagnosing faults, servicing vehicles, and carrying out repairs on PSV and HGV fleets at Wells Depot in Wells, BA5 1SZ.

We require NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance (PSV/HGV preferred). The position offers a 39-hour week, competitive pay (£19.70 per hour), a £3,000 joining bonus, and progression opportunities within a leading UK bus operator.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair, PSV/HGV preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement.
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required.
• Carry out vehicle road testing to identify defects after repairs.

We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic for our First Bus Wells Depot – PSV or HGV mechanical experience is great however we love to hear fromex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
• Diagnosevehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
• Carry outvehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices if applicable
• Attend on-roadvehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required
• Carry outvehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair

About You

• Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair – PSV/HGV preferred
• Do you have a flexible approach to work with theability to multi skill?
• Are you a UK driving license holder? A PCV license isdesirable however we can help you achieve this
