FirstBus Rochdale is hiring a PSV/ HGV Mechanic to diagnose faults, repair vehicles, and replace parts to keep fleets on the road. You will conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

The role requires a Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds equivalent, HGV/PSV experience, a UK driving licence and IRTEC accreditation. Base hours are Mon-Fri with weekend overtime opportunity in Rochdale.

Formación

• Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds equivalent in vehicle maintenance & repair.
• Experience working on HGV or PSV vehicles.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• IRTEC accreditation.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs and part replacements.
• Carry out scheduled servicing and routine inspections.
• Perform preventative maintenance and respond to on‑road breakdowns.
• Road test vehicles where required and complete regulatory documentation accurately.

PSV/HGV Mechanic

Key Details:

• £20.06 per hour
• Minimum 40 hours per week
• Monday-Friday
• 07:00am-15:30pm
• Weekend overtime paid at £21.06 Saturday, £22.06 Sunday

In this hands-on role, you'll keep vehicles running safely and reliably by diagnosing faults, completing mechanical repairs and replacing parts when needed. You'll carry out scheduled servicing, routine inspections and preventative maintenance, as well as responding to on-road breakdowns and recoveries. You'll also road test vehicles where required and make sure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with regulations and health and safety standards.

What We're Looking For

• Do you have a Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds equivalent in vehicle maintenance & repair?
• Do you have experience working on HGV or PSV?
• Do you have a valid UK driving licence?
• Do you have Irtec accreditation?
• Do you also have a strong attention to detail and a passion for mechanics?
