Job summary

First Bus Norwich Depot is seeking a PSV/HGV Mechanic to maintain and repair fleet vehicles. The role requires an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance and repair, with PSV/HGV experience preferred.

A UK driving licence is essential, and a PCV licence is desirable with support to achieve. We offer a base hourly rate of £21.12, with weekend and unsociable hours premiums, plus a £2,000 joining bonus for new recruits.

• Flexible approach to work with ability to multi skill.
• UK driving licence holder; PCV licence desirable, help to achieve if needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement.
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used.
• Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices if applicable.
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required.
• Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair.

We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic for our First Bus Norwich Depot – PSV or HGV mechanical experience is great however we love to hear from Light Vehicle qualified candidates and ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

• Do you have a flexible approach to work with the ability to multi skill?
• Are you a UK driving license holder? A PCV license is desirable however we can help you achieve this
