Job summary

First Bus Great Yarmouth Depot is seeking an NVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic to join our busy team. You will diagnose faults, carry out repairs, service schedules and road-test vehicles, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

The role offers 39 hours per week, five days out of seven including weekends, with rotation of early/late shifts and a £3,000 joining bonus. Experience on HGV/PSV and a valid UK driving licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• Do you have a Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds equivalent in vehicle maintenance & repair?
• Do you have experience working on HGV or PSV?
• Do you have a valid UK driving licence?
• Do you also have a strong attention to detail and a passion for mechanics?

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform mechanical repairs to keep vehicles safe and reliable.
• Carry out scheduled servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Respond to on-road breakdowns and recoveries and road-test vehicles as required.
• Ensure documentation is completed accurately and in line with regulations and health & safety standards.

We are now looking for an NVQ Level 3 (or C&G equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic to join the busy team at First Bus Great Yarmouth Depot – PSV or HGV mechanical experience is great however we love to hear from ex-Forces personnel with an engineeringapprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other automotive sectors looking for a change.

Key Details:

• £21.55 per hour
• Weekend premium rate available
• 5 days over 7 (including weekends)
• Minimum 39 hours per week
• Rotation of early and late shifts
• £3,000 joining bonus!

In this hands-on role, you'll keep vehicles running safely and reliably by diagnosing faults, completing mechanical repairs and replacing parts when needed. You'll carry out scheduled servicing, routine inspections and preventative maintenance, as well as responding to on-road breakdowns and recoveries. You'll also road test vehicles where required and make sure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with regulations and health and safety standards.

What We're Looking For
