We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Protective Security Manager.

Office (GCOO) at HSBC. Protective Security (PS) is responsible for the protection of our people, buildings, and assets. This is achieved by deploying physical & electronic countermeasures to minimise the risk. PS also work closely with internal stakeholders, partner vendors, intelligence agencies and law enforcement to monitor and respond to the changing threat landscape.

In this role you will:
  • Support the management of event security across the UK and Europe, including threat assessments and security planning. Prepare for the implementation of Martyn’s Law (Protect Duty) and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Conduct and regularly review Protective Security Risk Assessments for Head Office, ensuring follow‑up on actions and compliance with global standards.
  • Respond swiftly to incidents such as assaults, fires, or protests, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders to ensure effective resolution and documentation.
  • Support the procurement and management of guarding and other security contracts, focusing on SLA meetings, KPI monitoring, and service improvements to enhance security operations.
  • Work closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, including executives, contractors, and law enforcement, to ensure seamless coordination and implementation of security measures.
  • On call work would be required
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in retail, protective, or office security management, ensuring comprehensive safety protocols and risk assessments are effectively implemented.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders, showcasing a high level of gravitas and fostering collaborative relationships to drive security initiatives.
  • Ability to maintain composure and make strategic decisions during high‑pressure situations, ensuring effective incident management and resolution.
  • Experience in event security management is desirable, with a focus on planning, threat assessments, and adapting to new security laws like Martyn’s Law.
  • A background in managing contracts is desirable, including procurement, KPI monitoring, and service improvement to enhance security operations.
  • Successful candidate would need to hold a driving license and access to a vehicle.

This role is based in London.
