Job summary

WSP is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer to design a range of Protection & Control solutions for EHV substations (11kV to 400kV). You may be based in Newcastle, Stockton-on-Tees, Leeds or Manchester, with travel to UK client sites as required.

You will produce 11kV–132kV protection drawings, develop new solutions for a future smart grid, and integrate protection with SCADA systems while creating all related calculations and documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in the design of protection and control schemes.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation relating to design.
• Knowledge of electrical networks and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Produce protection and control system design drawings for 11kV–132kV.
• Develop protection solutions for future smart grid requirements.
• Integrate protection and SCADA systems for cost-effective designs.
• Create engineering calculations and documentation.
• Support equipment specifications.
