Job summary

Hundred Houses Society is seeking a Property Compliance Officer in Cambridge on a fixed-term maternity cover, 37 hours per week, hybrid working. The role focuses on monitoring gas, electrical, fire safety, asbestos and water hygiene programmes, maintaining records, and ensuring timely remedial actions to keep homes safe for customers.

The successful candidate will have hands-on property compliance experience in social housing, strong data skills, and the ability to work with contractors,

Qualifications

• Experience of working in social housing or a similar regulated property environment.
• Experience supporting property compliance servicing and inspection programmes (gas, electrical, fire, water, asbestos and lifting equipment).
• Experience with compliance systems and processes.
• Experience delivering business support functions.
• Proficient in housing management and compliance systems and reporting tools, including dashboards and document control.
• Accuracy and attention to detail with good numerical skills.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication; able to negotiate with contractors and colleagues.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills; able to adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong customer care skills, taking ownership and following up until issues are resolved.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Integrity, personal accountability and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate compliance records and dashboards for reports.
• Quality-check safety certification to ensure data validity and completeness.
• Monitor compliance programmes and due dates; coordinate with contractors for timely assessments and remedial works.
• Raise orders for compliance remedial works; track and confirm completion; manage payments within budgets.
• Report on compliance and contractor performance against KPIs; flag non-compliance.
• Support audits with clear evidence and documentation.
• Answer customers' compliance questions; facilitate access and share safety information clearly.
• Take minutes at contract meetings and help improve systems for damp, mould and condensation.
