Job summary

Cavendish (Recruitment) Professionals Ltd is recruiting a Project Manager for a London-based client, a leading UK contractor specializing in Heavy Civils, RC Frames, and Groundworks.

You will take responsibility for delivering a £5m RC Frame and Groundworks project, lead site teams, manage programmes, costs, and risk, and ensure safety, quality, and client satisfaction through pre-construction to handover.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within the RC Frame and Groundworks sector.
• Experience delivering projects valued between £3m and £15m+.
• SMSTS certificate and CSCS Black Card or equivalent.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join one of our well-established clients in London.

Our client is a leading UK-based contractor specializing in Heavy Civils, RC Frames, and Groundworks.

Requirements

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a £5m RC Frame and Groundworks project.
• Manage the project from pre-construction through to handover.
• Develop, monitor, and manage project programmes, ensuring key milestones are achieved.
• Lead site teams, including Engineers, Site Managers, Supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor resources effectively.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Work closely with the commercial team to manage project costs, variations, and contractual matters.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
• Review and approve RAMS, construction methodologies, and site documentation.
• Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality and safety standards.
• Prepare and submit project reports to senior management.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within the RC Frame and Groundworks sector.
• Experience successfully delivering projects valued between £3m and £15m+.
• Excellent knowledge of construction sequencing, planning, and resource management.
• Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project planning software.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• SMSTS Certificate.
• CSCS Black Card or appropriate management-level CSCS card.
• First Aid at Work Certificate.
• Temporary Works Coordinator (advantageous).
• Relevant industry qualifications and memberships are desirable.
