Expanded (Part of Laing O''Rourke). Location: Initially based near Glasgow Central, transitioning to Airdrie. Sector: Civil Engineering – Reinforced Concrete Structures.

About the Role

Expanded are currently recruiting an experienced Project Manager to join our team on the Monklands Hospital Replacement Project in the Glasgow area. This is a high-profile healthcare infrastructure project where you' ll play a key role in delivering reinforced concrete structures to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

What We''re Looking For
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • 10–15 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proven experience in structural works, particularly in reinforced concrete.
Key Responsibilities
  • Champion a zero-tolerance approach to unsafe working practices, actively promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Support the successful delivery of the sub-project to meet client expectations—on time, within budget, and to QA and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to produce detailed short-term programmes.
  • Report project progress accurately and on time.
  • Encourage and implement innovative ideas and improvements from the team and wider business.
  • Coordinate daily resourcing needs and communicate effectively with the construction team.
  • Work closely with Construction and Section Managers to ensure optimal resource use and share best practices.
  • Monitor and report the impact of external changes on project plans.
  • Lead regular section meetings to address safety, quality, progress, and design updates.
  • Ensure consistent application of Laing O''Rourke project management procedures and systems.
  • Contribute to regular contract reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Chair monthly safety committee meetings, ensuring timely distribution of minutes and follow-through on actions.
