Via East Midlands Limited is recruiting a Traffic Engineer Coordinator to join the Project Services team at our Trent Bridge House Office in West Bridgford. The role focuses on leading highway improvement designs, TRO consultations, and close collaboration with Construction and Commercial teams to ensure high safety and quality standards while delivering projects on time.

Qualifications

• HVAC? (note: maintained for accuracy)
• Requires HNC/NVQ Level 4 in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Proficient in CAD software and related design/data management tools
• Strong knowledge of traffic signing, road markings, pedestrian crossings and traffic calming
• Understanding of TROs, legislation and statutory processes
• Knowledge of health & safety, traffic management and highway engineering legislation
• Experience producing reports and collaborating with clients and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of highway improvement projects within budget and programme targets.
• Manage TRO consultations ensuring legal compliance and effective stakeholder engagement.
• Investigate and respond to TRO objections and enquiries with balanced recommendations.
• Provide expert advice on TROs, highway signage and road markings.
• Review externally designed traffic and highway schemes for design and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with Construction and Commercial teams to support productivity and project delivery.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across all activities.

Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Traffic Engineer Coordinator to join our Project Services team based out of our Trent Bridge House Office in West Bridgford, Nottingham.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the design and delivery of highway improvement projects, ensuring quality, budget and programme targets are achieved.

• Manage Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) consultations, ensuring legal compliance and effective stakeholder engagement.

• Investigate and respond to TRO objections and enquiries, providing balanced recommendations.

• Provide expert advice on traffic regulation orders, highway signage and road markings.

• Review externally designed traffic and highway schemes to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.

• Work closely with Construction and Commercial teams to support productivity, profitability and project delivery.

• Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across all activities.

What we’re seeking:

• HNC/NVQ Level 4 in Civil Engineering (or related discipline), or equivalent experience in a highway/traffic design environment.

• Proficient in CAD software and specialist design and data management systems.

• Strong knowledge of traffic signing, road markings, pedestrian crossings, traffic calming and relevant design standards.

• Understanding of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs), associated legislation and statutory processes.

• Knowledge of health & safety, traffic management and relevant highway engineering legislation.

• Experience producing reports and working collaboratively with clients, stakeholders and colleagues to deliver successful outcomes.

• Full UK driving licence.
