Job description
Technical Project Architect – London Start Date: ASAP

My client, a London-based architecture studio, is seeking a talented and proactive Technical Project Architect to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a mix of residential façade remedial projects, office retrofits, and large master-planning schemes, taking projects from concept design through to construction and completion.

About the Role

Since 2022, my client’s practice has been heavily involved in façade remedial projects, often initiated for fire safety compliance. These projects provide engaging technical challenges, offering the chance to develop deep expertise in façade design while working closely with full consultant and contractor teams. Alongside remedial work, there are opportunities to contribute to office retrofit and master-planning projects, some progressing through RIBA Stage 3 towards planning applications.

The role involves leadership in design and technical delivery, including acting as or supporting the Building Regulations Principal Designer, making it ideal for someone with prior experience and enthusiasm for this responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to the design and technical delivery of façade remedial projects, while supporting wider new build schemes.
  • Manage and coordinate detailed design and construction packages.
  • Organise, chair, and minute meetings and workshops.
  • Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster team collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Skills & Experience
  • ARB-registered Architect with 5–10 years post-Part 2 experience (ideally 5 post-Part 3).
  • Proven experience in the technical design and delivery of UK construction projects, particularly façade remediation.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and CDM duties.
  • Experience acting as or supporting a Principal Designer is highly desirable.
  • Excellent technical detailing ability, especially in retrofit and remedial works.
  • Proficient in CAD, ideally with BIM/Revit experience.
  • Confident communicator, capable of liaising with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects and teams.
