Job summary

Warrington & Vale Royal College is seeking a full‑time Progress Coach to support individual learner achievement and respond to learner needs across college. The post covers a fixed 1 academic year during term time, with a strong emphasis on pastoral and academic guidance.

Successful applicants will manage their own caseload, contribute to a supportive college environment and engage in ongoing training and induction programmes.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or equivalent teaching qualification required.
  • Educated to A Level standard or equivalent with broad GCSE baseline including English and Maths.
  • Experience or willingness to work toward safeguarding and learner support targets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of learners and provide tailored support to enable achievement.
  • Collaborate across college to deliver high-quality pastoral and academic assistance.
  • Support students to set targets, monitor progress and respond to individual learner needs.

Education

Diploma in Education & Training (or equivalent)
A Levels or equivalent

Up to £28,398 FTE (equal to £24,487 TTO)

Warrington & Vale Royal College is seeking to appoint a full time Progress Coach to facilitate individual learner achievement, effectively respond to individual learner needs and empower learners to take responsibility for their own learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for their own caseload of students and work collaboratively across college to provide consistent, high levels of support both pastoral and academic.

This post is full time, term time only, working 38 weeks. This is a fixed term role for 1 academic year.

Suitable candidates will possess or be willing to work towards a Diploma in Education & Training (or equivalent), be educated to A Level standard or equivalent and hold 5 GCSEs grade A-C or equivalent including English and Maths.

In addition, candidates should have a clear understanding of student target setting, monitoring and reviewing to ensure achievement for students, experience using data to inform interventions and a commitment to the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.

This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check/Children's barred list check, and a Prohibition check for teaching staff.
