Production Supervisor

Job Overview

My client is a manufacturer of interiors for the automotive industry and is looking for a Production Supervisor to join their team on a 3-shift pattern.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage a team of 15 to 25 operators working during the same shift.
• Ensure QCD indicators meet customer expectations.
• Collaborate with other shift supervisors and the UAP manager to define QCDP targets for improvements (ppm, pph, TRS, absenteeism, accidents, ideas).
• Monitor shift performance and report accurate data.
• Manage resources, including adjusting headcount based on volume.
• Address problems immediately: containment, support calls, corrective actions.
• Replace GAP leaders when necessary.
• Drive continuous improvement actions:
• Identify team issues and gather feedback.
• Set performance improvement areas.
• Lead teamwork, problem-solving activities, and workshops (5S, Hoshin, TPM, SMED, 6 Sigma).
• Promote and implement improvement ideas.
• Conduct daily audits of standardized work with GAP leaders and ensure corrective actions.
• Weekly audits with each GAP leader regarding standardized work.
• Aim to spend 70% of time on improvement activities.
• Oversee daily management and maintain a visible presence on the shop floor.
• Plan and manage headcount and resource allocation daily and weekly.
• Coach GAP leaders and team members.
• Support problem-solving efforts.
• Maintain discipline and rigor (workwear, breaks, hours).
• Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed.
• Participate in team development, including recruitment, induction, training, and performance reviews.

Job Requirements

• Experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Supervisory experience in production environments.
• Experience with management systems.
• Experience managing logistics operators.
• Reside within commuting distance to Litchfield.
• Willing to work shifts, including nights.
