This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity for a production supervisor with machine shop experience to join a highly respected engineering organization. The main responsibilities include:

1. Managing daily operations in the machining cell.
2. Overseeing machines and operators to ensure effective performance and achievement of production targets.
3. Reporting on shift operation performance.
4. Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards and procedures.
5. Improving and maintaining housekeeping standards in the machining cells.
6. Driving continuous improvement in people and processes.
7. Delivering team briefings and toolbox talks.

Key responsibilities of the Production Supervisor

• Responsible for all health, safety, and environmental aspects in the machine shop.
• First line of discipline for all direct reports.
• Planning and organizing operators and machines to meet shift requirements.
• Maintaining work-to-boards on machines, ensuring operators are aware of work priorities, and machines are loaded at all times.
• Ensuring multi-manning when possible.
• Keeping job bookings current and accurate.
• Meeting quality, cost, and delivery standards aligned with business strategies.
• Managing and reporting operator time management, including shift arrangements, holidays, absenteeism, and attendance, using T&A systems and shift charts.

Ideal experience for the Production Supervisor

• Experience in a machine shop environment, preferably in high-value, low-volume production with complex parts.
• Leadership experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Effective communication skills.
• Flexibility regarding working hours and shifts.

Working hours

The role involves a 37.5-hour workweek with flexible hours to suit individual circumstances. Core hours are:

• Monday to Thursday – 9:30 AM to 2:15 PM
• Friday – 9:30 AM to 12 PM

Compensation package

• Base salary: Negotiable based on experience and abilities.
