Job description

Baltic Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Permanent Production Shift Team Leader for a client located in Newton Aycliffe. Reporting to the Production Section Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a small shift team to ensure safe, efficient, and effective production operations. The role involves delivering production schedules while upholding health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Promote a positive HSE culture within the Operations Department to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
• Ensure proper risk assessments and adherence to Safe Systems of Work by all personnel on site.
• Issue and control Permits to Work.
• Participate as a member of the site Emergency Response Team.
• Plan, schedule, and manage Production and Logistics Operations in collaboration with relevant operational staff.
• Understand site manufacturing processes and chemistry involved.
• Utilize and understand the manufacturing Distributed Control System (Delta V).
• Work closely with Engineering Operations to identify areas for improvement in plant availability, performance, and efficiency.
• Manage holiday, sickness absence, and discipline within their area of responsibility, following site policies and procedures.
• Identify training and development needs of team members.
• Perform all other reasonably incidental tasks as required.

Applicants

• Candidates should have detailed knowledge of plant and logistical processes and procedures, ideally supported by recognized process manufacturing qualifications and experience in a Process Manufacturing environment.
• Experience with COMAH regulations is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to follow structured thought processes and methodologies, maintaining attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills at all levels within and outside the organization.

Shift times are 12-hour shifts: 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am, working 2 days, 2 nights, then 4 days off for an 8-week cycle, followed by 18 consecutive days off.
