Job summary

Canon EMEA is seeking a Field Service Engineer for the East Midlands/South Yorkshire region to maintain, repair and service Canon Production products at customer sites. You will diagnose faults, install equipment, and support customers on-site and remotely to minimise production downtime.

You will travel to customer sites, provide training, and ensure professional on-site service with strong communication and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Previous/demonstrable experience as a field service engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Good understanding of IT/networking for device connectivity.
• Experience and understanding of print industry - desirable.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
• An understanding and awareness of company policies and Health & Safety Guidelines.
• Basic IT qualification - Advantageous.
• NVQ or equivalent in an electrical and/or mechanical discipline - highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and provide solutions to minimise downtime.
• Achieve high first-time fix rate and optimise use of time and parts.
• Maintain ownership of service reports and communication.
• Use remote tools to support incident avoidance and monitoring.
• Install and configure new devices at customer premises and train users.
• Provide on-site customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
