Job summary

Canon EMEA is seeking a Field Service Specialist to provide senior technical leadership across Canon Production products in the UK and Ireland, acting as the primary escalation point for complex issues and driving continuous service improvements.

The role partners with regional specialists, field service engineers, and partners to ensure readiness, accurate training, and exceptional customer outcomes, all while delivering measurable product performance improvements across the national service

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain expert knowledge of Canon Production products and applications, serving as UK & Ireland's primary technical authority.
• Own product launch process to ensure service readiness and provide launch support.
• Assess business training needs and propose new learning content.
• As training course director, ensure objectives align with product capabilities and delegate needs.
• Deliver training courses face to face, virtually or by new methods.
• Effectively manage product/technical escalation, ensuring SLA adherence; escalate to Tier 4 as needed.
• Develop and execute product performance/profitability improvement programmes.
• Promote Health and Safety practices and product modifications.
• Collaborate to share best practices and knowledge across operations.
• Support regional service operations to improve engineer productivity; mentor field staff.
• Participate in project teams addressing strategic issues within Service & Support.
• Act as technical lead for installs/projects, especially for new products or where third-party finishing equipment is used.
• Manage modification and firmware update programmes prioritising safety and profitability.
• Build relationships with European NSOs to exchange best practices and support cross-border technical initiatives.
