Overview

Production Planning Manager

Location: Aldershot, Hampshire (Onsite) | Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per year, depending on experience | Hours: 40 hours per week | Sector: Precision Engineering / Manufacturing (Aerospace exposure advantageous)

The Opportunity

WF Tech is recruiting a Production Planning Manager on behalf of a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Aldershot. This is a key onsite role within a high-performing manufacturing environment, supporting complex production schedules and demanding customer requirements. The successful candidate will play a central role in coordinating production planning activities, optimising output, and supporting continuous improvement across the operation.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and operational targets
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure timely availability of materials and components
  • Monitor production progress and adjust plans to mitigate risks, delays, or constraints
  • Work closely with Quality to ensure all products meet required standards
  • Analyse production data and generate reports to support continuous improvement, including SIOP and load & capacity analysis
  • Implement, maintain, and improve production planning systems and tools
  • Communicate production plans clearly across departments and stakeholders
  • Optimise production output in collaboration with Production Planners, Managers, and Coordinators
  • Support additional operational activities as required
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Proven experience in production planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment
  • Aerospace industry experience highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles
  • CPIM or similar certification advantageous
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Confident using production planning software and tools
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Highly organised with strong time management skills
Working Hours
  • Monday – Thursday: 06:30 – 15:15; Breaks: 09:30–10:00 and 12:30–13:00
  • Friday: 06:00 – 13:00; Break: 09:30–09:50
Holiday
  • 33 days per year, including bank holidays
