Job summary

Pertemps are recruiting a hands-on Production Fitter to join their Tipton team. The role involves assembling and fitting mechanical components, installing hydraulic and mechanical systems, and using hand and power tools to follow detailed assembly instructions.

Full training is provided, so existing hydraulics experience is desirable but not essential. A solid mechanical understanding and practical skills are valued, with standard hours: Mon-Thu 07:30–16:30 and Fri 07:30–12:30.

Based in Tipton, this full‑time Production Fitter – Mechanical Assembly position offers £12.74 per hour through Pertemps Black Country Perms. The successful candidate will assemble and fit mechanical components, install hydraulic and mechanical systems, and operate hand and power tools while following detailed assembly instructions. Full training is provided, so applicants need not possess every skill from the outset. A solid mechanical understanding and some hydraulics experience are desirable, alongside a willingness to learn within an engineering setting. Working hours follow a standard full‑time pattern, and the role suits someone practical who takes genuine interest in hands‑on fitting work.

Are you mechanically minded, enjoy working with tools and have a genuine interest in engineering? Pertemps are recruiting Production Fitters to join a growing team in Tipton.

This is a hands‑on role involving the assembly and fitting of mechanical components, with the opportunity to develop your skills within an engineering environment. Full training will be provided, so we’re not necessarily looking for someone who can do everything from day one. We’re looking for someone with a good mechanical understanding, some experience with hydraulics and the right attitude to learn.

The role will include:

• Assembling and fitting mechanical components
• Installing hydraulic and mechanical systems
• Using hand and power tools
• Following assembly instructions and working to quality standards
• Carrying out in‑line checks throughout the assembly process
• Working as part of a skilled production team

We’re looking for someone with:

• Previous experience in a mechanical, engineering, fitting, assembly or similar environment
• Some experience or understanding of hydraulics
• Good mechanical aptitude and practical skills
• Experience using hand and power tools
• A genuine interest in engineering, mechanics or machinery

Working hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30
• Friday: 07:30 – 12:30 (early finish)

Pay and benefits:

• £12.74 per hour to start
• £13.50 per hour following a successful trial period
• Monthly shop floor bonus when production targets are achieved
