Job summary

Pertemps West Bromwich in Tipton is looking for a hands-on Production Fitter to assemble and fit mechanical components, including hydraulic systems, using hand and power tools. Full training will be provided to develop your engineering skills.

The role offers working hours from Monday to Thursday 07:30–16:30, and Friday 07:30–12:30 with an early finish, plus a monthly shop floor bonus as targets are met.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a mechanical/engineering/fitting/assembly environment.
• Some hydraulics understanding or experience.
• Good mechanical aptitude and practical skills.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Genuine interest in engineering.

Production Fitter - Mechanical Assembly

Are you mechanically minded, enjoy working with tools and have a genuine interest in engineering?

Pertemps are recruiting Production Fitters to join a growing team in Tipton. This is a hands-on role involving the assembly and fitting of mechanical components, with the opportunity to develop your skills within an engineering environment.

Full training will be provided, so we're not necessarily looking for someone who can do everything from day one. We're looking for someone with a good mechanical understanding, some experience with hydraulics and the right attitude to learn.

The role will include:

• Assembling and fitting mechanical components
• Installing hydraulic and mechanical systems
• Using hand and power tools
• Following assembly instructions and working to quality standards
• Carrying out in-line checks throughout the assembly process
• Working as part of a skilled production team

We're looking for someone with:

• Previous experience in a mechanical, engineering, fitting, assembly or similar environment
• Some experience or understanding of hydraulics
• Good mechanical aptitude and practical skills
• Experience using hand and power tools
• A genuine interest in engineering, mechanics or machinery

Working hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30
• Friday: 07:30 - 12:30 (early finish)

Pay and benefits:

• £12.74 per hour to start
• £13.50 per hour following a successful trial period
• Monthly shop floor bonus when production targets are achieved
