Manpower Manufacturing & Engineering is seeking a qualified Production Engineer (mechanically biased) to join our prestigious global partner's team in Sutton in Ashfield. The role involves working 12-hour shifts (days and nights) from 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am, with no weekends, on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure production meets quality standards by completing quality checks and making necessary adjustments.
2. Identify and resolve problems promptly.
3. Manufacture according to the production plan to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.
4. Maintain efficient operation of lines and equipment, reducing downtime, and resolving performance issues. Communicate issues and solutions to Team Coordinators.
5. Minimize spoilage by addressing issues as they arise and informing Team Coordinators of unresolved problems.
6. Perform maintenance activities as required.
7. Resolve breakdowns and participate in improvement projects.
8. Engage in training activities to improve personal effectiveness and train others.
9. Lead the production line team in problem-solving and handovers.

Job Specific Skills:

1. Time-served apprenticeship or recognized engineering qualification.
2. Ability to interpret drawings, manuals, and technical documents.
3. 3-5 years’ experience in FMCG, preferably packaging.
4. Proactive and adaptable to change.
5. Competent in changeovers.
6. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to take corrective actions.
7. Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics.
8. Basic electrical knowledge is advantageous.
