Production Engineer (6 month fixed term contract)

Job Overview

Manpower Manufacturing & Engineering is seeking an experienced Production Engineer (mechanically biased) for a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Sutton in Ashfield. The role involves working 12-hour shifts (day and night) from 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am, with no weekends.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure production meets quality standards, completing all quality checks and adjustments.
2. Identify and resolve problems promptly.
3. Manufacture production plans to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.
4. Maintain efficient line and equipment operation, minimize downtime, and resolve issues affecting performance.
5. Reduce work order spoilage by identifying issues and implementing solutions.
6. Perform maintenance activities as needed.
7. Resolve breakdowns and undertake improvement projects.
8. Participate in training to improve personal and team effectiveness.
9. Lead problem-solving initiatives and handovers within the production line.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. Time-served apprenticeship or recognized engineering qualification.
2. Ability to work from drawings, manuals, and technical documents.
3. 3-5 years' experience in FMCG, preferably packaging.
4. Proactive approach to adopting new methods and adaptable to change.
5. Competent in changeovers.
6. Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and corrective actions.
7. Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics.
8. Basic electrical knowledge (advantage).
